Our Summer

Sorry for the longest blog imaginable.  Having 2 kids keeps you extremely busy so I have made 1 extremely long blog to summarize our entire summer.  This has been an amazing summer since I was able to be home the entire time on maternity leave.  The first month was a little rough but we soon learned our new normal and were able to enjoy the summer.  We tried to do as much as we could.

One weekend Nana and Papa took us to the Museum in Norman.  Ethan loved the Dinosaurs and had fun in the children's section.

Many days were spent at home just enjoying our time together.

July 15th, Abel turned 1 Month

 August 15th, 2 Months Old

We took a visit to the zoo.  We hope to spend more time there this fall once it has cooled off.

Ethan absolutely adores his brother.  He is always asking to hold, hug and kiss him.
We had several play dates with an old friend from College and her son, Nolan.

We went to the movies.  Ethan has learn to enjoy this as well.

Even Abel attended.  He slept some but also enjoyed just being held while we watched the movie.

Ethan had his first visit to the Dentist.  He did amazing and had no cavity bugs!

We enjoyed swimming.  Abel's first time in pool.  Ethan has also become much braver and enjoys swimming with his life jacket and no other help.

Tummy Time has become a family event.  Everyone, including the dog, joins in.

Ethan had his 4th Birthday on August 2nd.  I filled his room with balloons for a surprise.  When he woke up (had slept in our room) he was surprised with a room full of balloons to start off his birthday.

On his birthday we went to Chuck-E-Cheese with Nana, Papa and Bubba.  We always like to have a small celebration with us.  Ethan had a blast playing games.

 Dancing!

This was one of his favorite games.
 Along with shooting spiders.
Afterwards we had cupcakes and opened presents at home.
Ethan's favorite gift.
The following day we had Ethan's big party.  He had picked Jump Zone and a Transformer theme.

That night we went to eat Pizza and bowling with some family.

Poor Ethan was too worn out.  He fell asleep while we bowled.
Finally we were able to go to the Lake at the end of August.  Ethan loves the lake and was so happy to be there.  We had a great time but are ready to go back once it is just a little cooler.

This has been an amazing summer and I hate it has come to an end.  Starting next week I will be returning to work and both boys will be going to school.  I hate to be leaving my boys but know it is just part of our lives.  I have been so blessed to spend this summer fully emerged in my boys.  It has been the best time and I have loved watching how much they have grown.
